- Dining
Hors d'oeuvres will be provided at buffet stations. A cash bar will also be available or you can bring your own spirits.
- Entertainment
Entertainment will feature DJ Willie C and Special, a Live Band featuring Michelle Phillips, lead vocalist and Ron Avant, Guitarist. The Anointed Sons of God (ASOG), international recording artists, will also perform. Known as the Temptations of Gospel, they will perform their hit arrangement of “Give the Nation Back” a song inspired by the election of President-elect Barack Obama. The song is written to a popular tune of the O-Jays who gave the ASOG permission to modify their song.
- Art
Prior to departing for a traveling exhibit, an oil portrait of Barack Obama by renowned artist and former Cincinnatian Gilbert Young will be unveiled.
The portrait, History + Hope = Change, was autographed by President-elect Obama. Gilbert Young, 67, well know for his painting, “He Ain’t Heavy, was director-conservator of the fine art collection at the University of Cincinnati for 27 years and was artist-in-residence at UC in 1994. He is on the board of the Cincinnati non-profit Project ArtReach as curator of visual arts. He also is on the board of the Heritage Arts Festival in Atlanta, Ga. A limited number of prints will be available to purchase at the event and specially priced at $30.00 each for Queen City Ball attendees. - Simulcast
The Inauguration Swearing-In Ceremony will be shown throughout the evening. Also there will be Live Broadcasts on Huge Screens throughout Hartwell of other Inauguration Activities and Events occurring in Washington and throughout the nation.
- Costs
Tickets are $20 per person in advance and $25 at the door. Reserved tables are also available. Parties of ten may reserve a table for $250. Table reservations guarantee group seating.
Parties will be escorted to their table. Reserved tables will have signage with the name of the party displayed.
The deadline for reserving a table by mail is January 10, 2009. Reservations may be made by contacting Brandy or Melanie directly through January 15th, 2009.
- Payment Methods
Tickets can be purchased with cash or by check. All checks should be made payable to the STDC.
Tickets can be purchased directly (in person), from one of our ticket sales representatives or by mail.
When purchasing by mail please include your name, phone number, the number of tickets you are purchasing and the address where you want your tickets sent or delivered.
You can provide this information on a note or download a ticket request form and mail it with your payment.
